May 9, 2009 -- The Hornets were eliminated from the MIAA conferecnce tournament with a 8-4 loss to #11 Central Missouri. ESU came from behind twice but could not complete the comeback as they were outhit 12-9 on the afternoon.

After falling behind 5-0, ESU rebounded with three runs in the second inning. The Mules responded with one in the fifth before the Hornets added their final run in the bottom half as both teams stranded eight runners.

Conner Crumbliss had two RBI while Kenny Burkhead went two for five with one run driven in. Caleb Williamson added the other RBI for the Hornets. Ben Graham pitched 5.1 innings in relief allowing only two runs while Ryan Anthony earned his third loss of the season.

ESU will now await the regional assignments to see where their next game will be, the regional pairings will be announced Sunday night.
