#17 ESU ADVANCES TO SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
May 17, 2009 -- The #17 Emporia State baseball team used a two run seventh inning to come from behind for a 5-3 victory over #16 Angelo State. The ESU bats came to life as they outscored their opponents 42-13 to make their way into tomorrow's winner take all championship game in Warrensburg, Mo.
At the plate ESU was led by Kenny Burkhead who went three for five and scored two Hornet runs. Kellen Lane went two for five on the day with two RBI. Jacob White and Mike Sharp also added RBI's for the Hornets. Dominik King picked up his fourth win of the year pitching three innings of relief while Diego Soto picked up his 10th save of the year.
ESU will take on #13 Central Missouri in the regional championship game at 12 noon in Warrensburg, Mo.
