April 26, 2009 -- The #3 Emporia State baseball team scored five runs in the ninth inning, but came up short of the comeback falling 11-7 to Missouri Southern. ESU scored seven runs in the last four innings and ended with 14 hits on the game.
At the plate for the Hornets Kenny Burkhead doubled and drove in three runs. Chris Dobler also went two for three and finshed with two RBI. Conner Crumbliss went three for four and scored one run. Ben Graham lost his third game of the season pitching 3.2 innings in the game.
ESU will be on the field again next weekend, looking to clinch a league title when Southwest Baptist comes to town May 1-2.
