March 15, 2008 -- The Hornets scored seven runs in the first four innings and held on a for a 10-6 victory to move to 2-0 in conference play. The Hornets hit four triples and out hit the Bulldogs for the second straight game.
The Hornets bats connected for four triples including three by James Morrison who was three of five and scored three runs. Nick Carlson homered and added three RBI for ESU. Nick Wolfe and Matt Marasco also added two RBI for the Hornets in the game. Brock Nehls earned the win and struck out five as Ty Reese closed out the final two innings and struck out four.
The Hornets will be back in action tomorrow against Truman in a double header at 12 noon from Glennen Field in the Trusler Sports Complex.
