#10 ESU WIN 10TH STRAIGHT IN CONFERENCE

March 28, 2008 -- The #10 ESU baseball team earned a sweep in the first of two double headers against SBU with an 8-0 and a 10-1 win. ESU did a good job of moving runners stealing eight bases between the two contests. ESU's streak of games where they have scored in the first inning moves to eight, while their overall win streak moves to 17 games.
 
In game one ESU got two runs in the first inning on the way to an 8-0 victory. Tyler Applehans handed in a superb performance scattering eight hits over seven innings while striking out ten. At the plate Keith Hernandez went two for three with two runs driven in while Matt Marasco finished three for three with two RBI.
 
In game two ESU put up a six spot through the first two innings and earned a 10-1 victory. Brock Nehls turned in a seven inning performance striking out six and allowing five hits and one run. Conner Crumbliss was three for five in the his second game back in the line-up since injuring his hand in February. Crumbliss finished with three RBI while Kellen Lane turned in a two for four day with two RBI.
 
The Hornets move to 24-3 on the season and are now 10-0 in the MIAA. They will be back in action on March 29 against SBU in a seven/nine double header at 1 p.m. at Glennen Field.
