#5 ESU CONTINUES TO ROLL WITH 15-2 RUN-RULE VICTORY

April 13, 2008 -- The #5 ESU baseball team took their 29th consecutive game with a 15-2 victory over Missouri Southern. Brian Majors had his team high hitting streak snapped at 29 games as he finished the game 0 for 6, but had one RBI for the Hornets. The Hornets put together 18 hits in the ballgame including three for extra bases.
 
At the plate Keith Hernandez went three for five with three runs drive in while Kevin Wempe went four for four with three runs driven in. Eric Shortell went three for four on the night with three runs scored and stole a Hornet season game high four bases. Anthony Dreiling scored four runs for the Hornets on the day in the run-ruled contest. Ryan Anthony went five innings for the Hornets to pick up his third win as Aaron Burris and Daniel Waggoner combined to give up only one hit over the final two innings.
 
The Hornets, now 36-3 and 22-0 in the MIAA, will travel to Pittsburg State on Tuesday April 15. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 4 p.m. from Al Ortolani Field in Pittsburg, Kan.
