April 11, 2008 -- The #5 Hornet baseball team pushed their winning streak to 26 games with a 9-1 win over Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo. Brian Majors had a hit in his first at bat to push his hitting streak to 27 straight games. ESU moves to 19-0 in conference play with the victory and remain atop the MIAA standings.
In addition to the first hit Majors went three for five on the night with a two run homer. The Hornets one, two and three hitters Conner Crumbliss, Majors and Eric Shortell respectively combined for six of the Hornets RBI as they each had two apiece. Brock Nehls pitched eight innings striking out seven as he earned his seventh victory of the season.
The Hornets will face the Lions again on Saturday in a scheduled double header in Joplin, Mo.
