Welcome to the official site of the NCAA Division II Central Regional Baseball Tournament May 18, 2008 -- The #23 Central Missouri baseball team captured the NCAA Divison II Central Regional Title with a 11-6 win over #12 Nebraska-Omaha in Emporia, Kan. THe Mules put up five runs in the first inning and never looked back putting up four more in the seventh to put the game away. The UNO Mavericks actually outhit the Mules 12-9 in the ballgame. All-Tournament Team May 17, 2008 - The Hornets gave up two runs in the first inning and could not come from behind as Central Missouri knocked them off 5-2 in the Central Regional Winner's Bracket Final. THe Hornets only came up with five hits as Danny Potje and Chris Matlock combined to only allow one earned run. The Mavericks of the Nebraska-Omaha eliminted MSU as the two teams met for the eighth time this season with a 6-5 win. MSU outhit UNO 12-8 in a game that saw three homr runs and nine extra base hits. May 16, 2008 -- The Minnesota State Mavericks eliminated the Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears with a 6-0 victory in the 2008 Division II Central Regional. Matt Mathiowetz for the Mavericks pitched a three-hit shutout striking out eight in a complete game performance. May 15, 2008 - The Central Missouri Mules took game one of the Central Region with a 7-4 win over Wayne State in Emporia, Kan. The Mules scored four runs in the third inning and added three in the eighth to close out the win. For the Mules Ian Dykins homered while Alex Koch homered for the Wildcats. May 12, 2008 - May 12, 2008 -- The #4 ESU baseball team has been selected to host the 2008 NCAA Division II Central Regional. The Hornets finished their season with a 48-8 record and were MIAA Conference Regular Season Champions. They will be hosting the regional for the second time in three years and third time in school history. The Hornets will enter the regional as the number one seed and will face sixth seeded Concordia St. Paul with game times to be announced on Monday. The last time the Hornets hosted the regional in 2006 they defeated Minnesota State in the championship game and advanced to their first NCAA Division II Championship Finals.
