April 3, 2008-On the strength of a Sweet 16 appearance by the Lady Hornet basketball team and top 25 finishes by the indoor track and field teams, the Emporia State athletic department has moved up to #33 in the Division II U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup Standings. ESU is one of five MIAA schools in the top 50 nationally and the only school from the state of Kansas. The Hornets are only 30 points out of moving into the top 25.
