Josh Slaughter
Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations/Publications Coordinator
Josh Slaughter begins his second full year as Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations and Director of Athletic Publications at Emporia State after coming in February of 2007. His responsibilities include designing media guides, preparing game notes and other game day responsibilities. During his time as baseball contact four players have been named All-Americans and Keith Hernandez was named the 2008 NCAA Division II Player of the Year.
Prior to coming to Emporia Josh was a KPA award winning photojournalist with the Osage County Herald- Chronicle in Osage City, Kan. He has also been read as a freelance journalist and columnist for several area newspapers. He is also currently one of the radio voices of the NAIA VSN All-Star Football game played in Kansas City every May.
He is a 2006 graduate of Sterling College where he was involved in both print and broadcast journalism. While in college he was both a KACP and KCB award winner. He was the very first radio voice of the Sterling College Warriors when Sterling College Radio went on air in 2005. He also hosted a national NAIA Athletics Radio Show called “Evening the SCOR” from 2005 to 2006.
He was a 2003 graduate of Chaparral High School in Anthony, Kan., where he was a two-year letterwinner in baseball.
