		HORNET VOLLEYBALL STRETCHES STREAK TO 19 GAMES October 11, 2008-The #11 Hornet volleyball team hit .366 as a team on the way to their 19th straight match win in a 3-0 victory over Missouri Southern on Saturday night in White Auditorium. Brittney Miller had 13 kills on .545 hitting while All-American Arica Shepard had 11 kills and 12 digs for the Hornets. Megan Koster added 10 kills on .556 hitting and Ting Liu dished 37 assists as ESU improved to 22-1 on the season and 8-0 in the MIAA. Recap Box Score
		HORNET FOOTBALL FALLS IN TURNPIKE TUSSLE October 11, 2008-The Emporia State Hornets could not overcome four turnovers and a blocked punt in a 14-6 loss to Washburn in the football edition of the Turnpike Tussle. Defensively Katrel Larkins and Chris Poston both had nine tackles.  Poston had two pass break ups while Larkins had a sack.  Tyler Mikkelson had six tackles, 1.5 TFL two forced fumbles and an interceptions. 		HORNET SOCCER PLAYS BEARCATS TO A TIE October 11, 2008 -- The ESU soccer team played to a tie for the first time since 2006 taking Northwest Missouri to the wire and earning a point in the standings. Jennifer Stillmock tied a career high with 12 saves as the Hornets pulled out the tie even though they were outshot 34-7 in the game. The Hornets held a lead in the game for just over 33 minutes. 		MONA HAS TOP TEN PLACE AT BORDER STATES October 11, 2008-Competing without their top two runners, the Emporia State men’s cross country team placed sixth at the Border States Invitational in Edwardsville, Ill.   Katie Mona led the ESU women with an eighth place finish as the Hornets placed 11th as a team.
