LEGISLATIVE DIRECTOR

Job Requirements: Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA, except for first semester freshmen and be a full time student.  The Legislative Director duties will include but are not limited to, attending the monthly Kansas Board of Regents and Students Advisory Committee meetings in Topeka; attending the Pre and Post Kansas Board of Regents meetings; serving as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee and attending weekly cabinet meetings; creating activities/events for U.S. Constitution Day (federal mandate); organizing a fall political event on campus for students; assisting the Student's Advisory Committee in planning the Higher Education Day activities and other lobbying efforts; assisting the President's planning committee for ESU Day on the Hill and organizing the student portion of the event; keeping in regular contact with legislators, senators, and other state and local government officials; monitoring state and city legislation that concerns ESU students. The President and Vice-President have the right to assign duties as necessary.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

Job Requirements: Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA, except for first semester freshmen and be a full time student. The Public Affairs Director duties will include but are not limited to, creating and distributing promotions to market ASG events and ASG recruitment; fostering a cohesive relationship between ASG, the student body, and the community by communicating with appropriate media outlets; writing or responding with properly formatted and factually accurate press releases, as needed, for the student media and the outside media as it pertains to ASG business or student related issues or events; working with media to correct all inaccuracies in the media regarding ASG and student-related issues; attending Emporia City Council and Emporia Mainstreet meetings, and fostering relationships to help bridge ESU with the Emporia community for events such as Can the Bods and the Big Event; being responsible for using creative outreach methods, such as using social networking tools, to enhance the image of ASG; serving as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee and attend weekly cabinet meetings; directing questions to appropriate members of ASG; reporting to the President. The President and Vice-President have the right to assign duties as necessary.

TREASURER

Job Requirements: Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA, except for first semester freshmen and be a full time student. The Treasurer duties will include but are not limited to, working with student organizations that have received funding to complete appropriate paperwork; preparing packets of information for student organizations and university departments to alert them to funding oppurtunities; serving as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee and attending weekly cabinet meetings; serving as an ex-officio member of ASG Fiscal Affairs Committee; working in collaboration with the chair of the ASG Fiscal Affairs Committee; making bi- monthly reports to ASG and organizations regarding the present standing of all organizations' allocations; coordinating and facilitating the billing process for the Epson Poster Printer; maintaining accurate and timely financial records. The President and Vice-President have the right to assign duties as necessary.

Election Commissioner

Election Commissioner requirements: Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA, except for first semester freshmen and be a full time student. The Election Commissioner duties will include but are not limited to, preparing all Associated Student Government election information for presidential, vice-presidential and senatorial candidates; distributing election regulations to candidates; making sure candidates uphold these regulations; administering fines when/if regulations are violated; helping to publicize elections; and encouraging all students to vote during the week of elections.  The election commissioner will be expected to attend bi-weekly Senate meetings and weekly Cabinet meetings during employment period.  The Election Commissioner will receive training from and work with the Graduate Advisor for Associated Student Government
