Emporia State University’s Art Department is seeking an Assistant
Professor of
Painting and Drawing, starting in August, 2009. MFA, college-level teaching
experience, and a strong national exhibition record are required. Successful
candidates must demonstrate a broad knowledge of painting and drawing
techniques as well as of contemporary and historical art issues. Teaching
responsibilities will include all painting levels and some drawing courses.
All faculty members at ESU are required to maintain effective teaching, an
active exhibition record, and university and departmental service, including
student advising and committee assignments. Normal teaching load is three
courses per semester, with additional independent-study projects for advanced
students.
Review of completed applications will begin on January 2, 2009 and continue
until position is filled. Candidates will be contacted for telephone
