August - October  Bethany Springer: "Showcase Showdown"

Closing Reception :  5-7pm on Friday, October 30

Bethany Springer, Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, is a sculptor, artist, and educator.  With the help of ESU students, Bethany will produce an installation designed specifically for the Norman R. Eppink Gallery.  She has created installations that cut across many boundaries to incorporate dance, video, lasers, and even robotics.   Artist honorarium provided by the ESU ASG Special Events Board.

October - December   Annual Faculty + Emeritus Faculty Exhibition

Opening Reception : 5-7 pm on Tuesday, November 10

This annual exhibition showcases the work of all current and Emeritus Emporia State University Art Department faculty.

January - March  FACES from the LAND:  Twenty Years of Powwow Tradition
by Photographers Ben and Linda Maar

Opening Reception : 5-7 pm on Tuesday, January 26

"Faces from the Land," an exhibition of photographs produced by Ben and Linda Maar, chronicles visually and through accompanying text, the life choices of and traditional garb worn by Native Americans attending and dancing at powwow evens occurring around the country today.

February 1 - 14  6th Annual Valentine's Day Invitational Scholarship Fundraiser

Hosted by the Emporia Arts Council, this annual event will feature work by various artists dealing with the them of LOVE.  ESU Art Faculty donates work and is encouraged to invite other artists to contribute work for the exhibition.  Art works in the show will be for sale to benefit Art Department students through scholarships.

April - May   Annual ESU Juried Student Exhibition

Opening Reception : 5-7 pm on Tuesday, April 6

Previewed by an external expert, this exhibition is a sample of outstanding student work created during the past academic year.

April - May   The Salon des Refuses'

Opening Reception : 7-8 pm on Tuesday, April 6

Works from the Student Art Exhibition not selected by the guest juror will be exhibited at the Emporia Arts Council, 618 Mechanic Street.
