General Education requirements


This program of studies incorporates breadth of education experience with emphasis on the traditional liberal arts disciplines and a major in art. Students who elect this degree program enter some field related to the arts. This degree requires 40 hours of art and at least 12 hours in another program of study. Additional elective hours allow students to experience course work which will relate these studies to their specific goals.

I. Foundations

AR 103 Three-Dimensional Design (3)
AR 501 Avanced Drawing


II. Art History (6 hours) plus  AR 225 Art History I (3), a General Education requirement                                                                                                         for all art majors.
AR 235 Art History II (3)
AR 345 20th Century Art History (3)


III. Art Forum (8 or one credit for each semester at ESU)
AR 099 Art Forum (1)


IV. Art Elective (24 hours - 14 hours must be 300 level or above)

V. Second Field (minimum of 12 credit hours)  Program to be established by department administrating the chosen second field discipline.

VI. Free and Unrestricted Electives (21 hours - may include art)  Must complete as needed to total 124 semester hours for degree.
