- How do Students Keep Financial Aid?
- Students must make satisfactory academic progress
- Encourage your student to attend class!
- Freshmen must maintain a 1.70 cumulative GPA and if funded as a full-time student complete 9 out of 12 hrs.
- Remember - students must apply for federal aid each year

- The Process
- Student applies for federal aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- School receives a copy of the student aid report
- Notify student if additional information is needed
- Verification
- Department of Education selects 30% of applications for verification
- If selected, we need a signed copy of parent and student tax return along with copies of all W2's
- Respond to all requests for information

- Verification
- Award notification
- When notified, go to website to view the award letter
- Most awards are based on full-time enrollment. If the student is not attending full-time, notify the financial aid office so we may revise financial aid
- Accept or decline awards
- If loans are declined or reduced now and then student decides later additional funds are needed, contact the Financial Aid Office. Funding may still be available.
- Student Accepts/Declines aid offered via Buzzin Student Channel
- Student submits Accepts/Declines to Financial Aid Office
- Revisions
- Financial Aid receives notice of the scholarship or outside aid
- Aid is reviewed and revised if necessary
- Student is notified via email to return to Buzzin
- Student accepts or declines revision
- Re-submits to Financial Aid Office
- Loan Counseling - done online
- Master Promissory Note - done online
- Loan certification cannot be done until student is enrolled in the number of hours for which they were awarded
- Financial aid is received and electronically transferred to Cashiering Services for processing
