Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP)
How it works
Application and Admission
The student applies for admission directly to the institution
of his or her choice. On the institution's application form,
the student indicates that MSEP status is desired upon admission.
The participating MSEP institution will evaluate the student's
application for admission and request for MSEP status and
will then respond directly to the student.
In all cases, the admitting institution reserves the right
to admit or deny admission to any applicant.
Students must indicate on their application for admission
that they seek admission as an MSEP student.
Tuition
An MSEP student pays 150 percent of the institution's regular
resident tuition plus any required fees. For example, at
a college with a resident tuition of $600 per semester and
a nonresident tuition of $1200 per semester, tuition for
an MSEP student would be $900 per semester. The full cost
(tuition plus fees) of any specific program can usually
be determined from the catalog of the institution or by
contacting the institution's office of admissions.
Students' MSEP status is retained as long as they are enrolled
in the program to which they were originally admitted and
are making satisfactory progress toward program completion.
When changing to another program (at the same or different
institution), a student may keep MSEP status only if the
new program is also listed in the bulletin (available below)
and/or the change is approved by the admitting institution.
Extension of the MSEP tuition privilege to students already
enrolled is at the discretion of the institution.
